Abstract

Dizziness is a common clinical symptom with causes divided into two main groups: peripheral vestibular lesions and central vestibular lesions. Central dizziness is a clinical condition in which the patient experiences an illusion of environmental movement or a spinning sensation while remaining stationary, as a result of dysfunction in the vestibular structures within the central nervous system. Patients primarily complain of symptoms of dizziness with illusions of movement or a spinning sensation. This condition is different from the mild, transient dizziness commonly encountered due to decreased cerebral blood flow.
