Abstract
Objectives: 1. Estimated rate of swallowing disorders in stroke patients at the Department of Internal Medicine and Neurorehabilitation, Viet Duc Friendship Hospital in 2024. 2. Identify some factors related to swallowing disorders and consequences of swallowing disorders after stroke at the Department of Internal Medicine and Neuroresuscitation, Viet Duc Friendship Hospital in 2024
Methodology: Across-sectional study was performed, with a total sampleofe pilepsy patients (N=79). Data was collected using a questionnaire on patient’s characteristics,
Results: Patients with swallowing disorders accounted for 38%, and without swallowing disorders accounted for 62% of the total number of patients participating in the study. The obese group accounts for the highest rate of 54.4%, the thin group accounts for the lowest rate of 3.8%.
Conclusions: It is necessary to perform an early swallowing disorder risk assessment for patients with early cerebral stroke in the first 12 hours to be able to assess the status of swallowing disorders.
